About This Project
A good riding arena starts with what is underneath it. For this project, we used a dozer to break up and clear the existing ground, then leveled the full arena footprint.
We brought in and spread crushed rock for the base, then compacted it with a roller to create a firm, even surface that drains properly. A well-built base keeps the arena from developing soft spots, puddles, and uneven footing that can be hard on horses.
The finished base is ready for the owner’s choice of arena footing and will stay usable through Oregon’s wet seasons.
